A more relaxed, outdoor approach to therapy for women who think better in motion
Walk and Talk Therapy
Walk and Talk Therapy
You may have arrived here if...
You know talking about your struggles would probably help, but the idea of sitting across from someone in an office for an hour feels intimidating, uncomfortable, or simply not like you. Maybe you think more clearly when you're moving, feel restless sitting still, or have noticed that some of your best conversations happen while walking alongside someone rather than sitting face-to-face.
Or maybe you're looking for a way to get outside more, move your body, and care for your mental health at the same time. You may be looking for a therapy experience that feels more natural, less formal, and better aligned with the way you already move through the world.
Why Walk-and-Talk Therapy?
For some people, movement makes it easier to access thoughts, emotions, and insights that feel harder to reach in a traditional office setting. Walking side-by-side often feels less intense than sitting face-to-face, which can make it easier to open up, process difficult experiences, and explore emotions without feeling as much pressure.
Many clients also find that being outdoors helps them feel calmer, more grounded, and less stuck. The combination of movement, fresh air, and connection can support emotional processing while creating a therapy experience that feels natural, comfortable, and sustainable.
My Approach
My approach to walk-and-talk therapy is the same as my approach to all therapy: warm, collaborative, and tailored to your individual needs. Together, we'll work to better understand the patterns, experiences, and emotions that may be keeping you stuck while building practical tools for moving forward.
Whether you're navigating anxiety, relationship challenges, ADHD, life transitions, or simply feeling overwhelmed, my goal is to create a space where you feel supported, understood, and empowered to make meaningful changes.
What to Expect
Walk-and-talk sessions take place outdoors at pre-selected locations in Northern Virginia. We'll walk at a pace that feels comfortable for you, and you're always welcome to slow down, take breaks, or sit if needed.
Because walk-and-talk therapy isn't the best fit for every situation, all clients begin with an initial intake appointment either virtually or in the office. During that session, we'll discuss your goals, current concerns, and whether walk-and-talk therapy is an appropriate fit for your needs.
Not every session has to be a walk. Some clients prefer to alternate between walk-and-talk sessions and traditional office or virtual appointments depending on their needs, schedule, and the weather.
